Lula's obituary
Lula Mae Schneider made her transition on December 13, 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones. While we are sad that she is no longer present here on this earth, we rejoice in knowing that she has made it to her eternal home in heaven.
Mrs. Schneider was born on December 17, 1927 in Millington, Tennessee to Eugene Monister and Alice Wair. She was the oldest of two children and lived her child and adolescent years in Tennessee before moving to Illinois.
Mrs. Schneider took pride in working and providing for her family at an early age. She recalled working as early as seven years old as a dishwasher for a restaurant in Tennessee. She held many jobs throughout her life to support her family. Her most memorable job she held was as head cook for Victory Hospital's Cafeteria where she was able to provide healthy meals for patients in need of nutritional food. Mrs. Schneider's most recent place of employment was at Off Track Betting where she loved to greet people and discuss their passion for horse racing. Mrs. Schneider decided to retire in 2015 after working there for for over thirty years. She was 88 years old.
Outside of work, Mrs. Schneider was known for her family friendly get together's where people gathered to eat her home cooked meals, listen to music, and enjoy each other's company. She established independence and strength early on as a child which carried on much later in lher ife. She has been considered to be the backbone of the family to anyone that knew her.
Mrs. Schneider confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior while she joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Zion, Illinois. She served as one of the Mother's of the church for over twenty years. She made sure that her household was introduced and involved in the church.
Some of Mrs. Schneider's favorite hobbies include: Drinking wine, play card games with friends, go to church, cook home cooked meals (from scratch) and visit the casino.
Mrs. Lula Mae Schneider leaves to cherish behind her nephew (bonus son) Jason Booker whom took in and raised since the age of 15. Mrs. Schneider also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Mrs. Schneider was preceded in death by her her husband Herman "Dale" Schneider; her parents Alice Wair and Eugene Monister and her younger sister Charlesea Booker.
