Dear family and friends of Lukina Sheldon-van der Werf,

As nieces and nephews in the Netherlands, we are very grateful to you all who have organized the obituary ceremony for our aunt Lukina Sheldon-Van der Werf. We could follow online and it was so comforting for us to hear you speak with so much friendship, affection and love for the elegant and intelligent special woman she was to us all. Thanks to the friends and family who were assisting the ceremony at Tillmann’s and all over the world online. A special thanks to Melody, Pete, Lisa, Sheldon and Connie for speaking and writing loving words.

We will cherish the multiple memories of Lukina and (uncle) John and we will never forget that all your doors were also opened when we were visiting them in Florida.

Lukina was the last one of her generation in our Dutch family. We’ll miss her stories of the past, we’ll miss the stories of her fantastic life with John, the best husband she could ever imagine and a great uncle for us, we’ll miss the ‘lovely meals, but even better company’, we’ll miss the rummy-cup games, and we’ll miss her gentle voice, her ‘savoir vivre’ and her loving hugs (‘dikke pakkerds’ in Dutch).

Lukina had a good and long life, may she have been reunited with the love of her life John. May peace be with her and us all.
