Luke, Lynnea, & Logan's obituary
Luke Soposki
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Luke Joseph Soposki, 37, of Ashley, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly along with his wife, Lynnea, and son, Logan, on April 11, 2026.
Luke was born on December 22, 1988, in Little Falls, NY, to Joseph and Joyce Soposki. He was the youngest of three sons and enjoyed the outdoors from an early age, especially hunting, riding four-wheelers, and snowmobiles. He became an avid hunter, specializing in ducks, geese, and turkeys.
He graduated from Richfield Springs Central School in 2007, where he served as student council president, participated in the yearbook club and National Honor Society, and enjoyed his time on the baseball team. He furthered his studies at SUNY Oneonta, graduating with a degree in biology and then pursuing a teaching certification. It was at SUNY Oneonta that he met the love of his life, Lynnea Mallen.
On August 16, 2014, Luke and Lynnea were united in marriage in Cooperstown, NY. Together, they built a beautiful life in Ohio, first in Xenia, then later relocating to Ashley, where they made a home filled with love, pets, and shared passions.
Luke built a meaningful and accomplished career guided by his scientific mind and deep commitment to environmental oversight. He began his professional journey with MAD Scientist and Lawhone Associates before he settled at Mettler Toledo, where he dedicated seven years. Throughout his career, he was admired by his colleagues for his intelligence, strong work ethic, and genuine willingness to support and uplift those around him. His contributions, both professional and personal, left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Luke was also a passionate woodworker, hunter, beekeeper, and brewer who approached every hobby with dedication and curiosity. When he set his mind to something, he pursued it with care and mastery– earning awards for his homebrewing and producing speciality honey through Queenright Cabin Apiary. Despite his many talents and accomplishments, nothing brought Luke greater joy than the time he spent with Lynnea and their son, Logan, who was truly the light of their lives. The smile Logan brought to Luke’s face was beyond measure and will be remembered always.
Luke is survived by his parents, Joseph and Joyce Soposki of Jordanville, NY; his brothers, Gregory (Allison) Soposki of Marcy and Jason (Nicole) Soposki of Richfield; his nieces and nephew; John, Jacqueline, Emily, Annika, Aleigha, and Riley Francis; his grandmother Marian Staruck; godparents Steven and Kathleen Staruck; cousins Andrew (Kelly) Staruck and Kelly (Tom) Rudd; and Aunt Terri and Uncle Rick Case, father in law, David Mallen, and brother in law, Jesse Mallen. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Michael and Cecelia Soposki; maternal grandfather Steven Staruck; and cousin Patty Soposki.
The family would like to thank their Ohio friends, Rachel, Jason, Brent, Kristina, and many other friends from Ohio, who have been instrumental in helping with care for their pets, securing their home, and working together with our families.

Lynnea Soposki
Lynnea Kelly Soposki, née Mallen, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2026 in Delaware County, Ohio, alongside her beloved husband, Luke Soposki, age 37, and their son, Logan Soposki, age 1.
Lynnea, or "Nea" to her family and close friends, was born on October 28, 1989 to David and Claudia Mallen in Kendall, Florida. She grew up in New Hartford, New York, where she quickly amassed a devoted and loving group of friends whom she kept close until the end. From an early age, her love of animals was readily apparent. She loved spending time with her mother helping to care for her Arabian, Pearl. It was there she formed a deep love of horses and began her journey with horseback riding.
Nea was a studious rider who often participated in national competitions. Her skills were impressive, and the family traveled to watch her compete. She was also an incredible caretaker to the family's pets. That devotion extended well into adulthood.
Lynnea's home was always full of love, particularly the love of animals. She rescued and cared for many animals over the years, Sura, Crash, Petunia, Tomasina, Griffin, and Hazel.
Lynnea earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She went on to build a career providing contract and relief veterinary services throughout the Columbus area, with professional interests spanning feline medicine, geriatric care, behavior, neurology, and musculoskeletal conditions. At the time of her passing, she was pursuing her Certified Companion Animal Therapist certification through NC State, one more way she found to help animals stay comfortable and mobile throughout their lives. "I enjoy being a friendly face for my clients," she once wrote, "and work hard to educate my clients and design a collaborative approach to help treat their pets." Anyone who knew Nea knew this wasn't a professional statement; it was just who she was.
Outside the clinic, Nea was an absolute joy to be around. She was a dedicated bodybuilder who brought the same discipline and heart to competition that she brought to everything she pursued, placing in competitions throughout the Northeast. She loved reading, hiking, and working out, and found joy in projects around the home, such as the apiary that she shared with her husband.
In 2010, Nea met Luke Soposki at SUNY Oneonta in a shared biology class. They were married in 2014 and together they built a life in Ashley, Ohio that was entirely their own. Luke, a market manager in analytical chemistry at Mettler-Toledo International, shared her passion for the natural world. Together they built their business, Queenright Cabin Apiary, selling honey and mead of various creative flavors. Luke was also an accomplished home brewer, placing in multiple categories at the Ohio State Fair in 2017 through his Blue Quill Brewing Company. They were, in every sense, a partnership - a unit. They looked out for one another, protected one another, knew each other inside and out, and loved each other infinitely.
On February 25, 2025, they welcomed their son Logan into the world, and Nea slipped easily into the role of mother with sweetness and devotion. Their home in Ashley was full of life, including their many rescued pets reflecting a woman who had devoted her life to the care of animals and the people who love them.
Nea is survived by her father, David Mallen of Vienna, New York; her brother, Jesse Mallen of Buffalo, New York; her in-laws, Joseph and Joyce Soposki of Mohawk, New York; her brothers-in-law, Gregory (Allison) and Jason (Nicole) Soposki; nieces and nephew; John, Jacqueline, Emily, Annika, Aleigha Soposki and Riley Francis; and the many friends in Ohio who became her chosen family and who loved her without reservation.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Claudia Mallen, and is now reunited with her husband Luke and son Logan.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, May 3, from 2-5 p.m. at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, 40 Main Street, Whitesboro. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 4, at 10 a.m. at Clinton United Methodist Church, 105 Utica Street, Clinton, with Pastor Abel Roy officiating. Interment for the immediate family will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton, NY.
In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Ducks Unlimited, or Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in memory of Luke, Lynnea, and Logan.

Logan Soposki
Logan Alder Soposki was a joyful gift to his loving parents. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his unexpected passing at 13 months old on April 11, 2026. Logan and his parents are now together in Heaven.
Logan was born on February 25, 2025, to Luke J. Soposki and Lynnea K. (Mallen) Soposki in Columbus, Ohio. Logan was welcomed into his parents’ lives after 10 years of marriage. He was instantly the light of their lives. He was the happiest baby they could have asked for. His bright red hair and beautiful blue eyes melted their hearts. He put a smile on everyone's face instantly.
He had several nicknames given by his parents: ‘Big Red’, ‘Lil Logan man’, ‘Bubs’, and ‘Little Buckeye.’ His parents were absolutely in love with Logan; they often expressed how blessed they were to have him in their lives. He was ‘loved to the moon and back,’ they stated. Luke and Lynnea also commented, ‘He makes our days so much better,’ and ‘This adorable roly poly guy is the absolute light of our lives.’
Lynnea loved to share monthly updates of baby Logan with family and friends on social media. Logan began babbling and saying ‘a-buh’ at 5 months and using sign language at just 6 months. He began to crawl at 8 months, stand at 9 months, push walk-behind toys at 10 months, and started walking independently at 11 months. At a year old, he started saying ‘Dada’. He loved playing tag with his mama and hide and seek with his dog, Brook. Logan enjoyed reading books, clapping, playing ‘catch’, and eating all the berries, especially favoring the blueberries and blackberries, the best. Peak-a-boo in the tunnel from Grandma and Grandpa, and sitting on the tractor from Opa were two of his fondest activities. He was happy, silly, playful, curious, and smart.
The visits he exchanged with his cousins brought smiles, laughs, and memories to be shared. Weekend get-togethers, playdates, and birthday parties with Ohio friends; Julia, Jonah, Kaylee, Clara, Brooks, Harper, and Walker were often and thoroughly enjoyed. Though his time with us was short, the amount of love he shared was immeasurable.
Logan is survived by his maternal grandfather, David Mallen; maternal uncle, Jesse Mallen; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Joyce Soposki; paternal uncles and aunts, Gregory and Allison Soposki, Jason and Nicole Soposki. His paternal cousins: John, Jacqueline, Emily, Annika, Aleigha Soposki, and Riley Francis.
The Mallen and Soposki families would like to thank the teachers and staff at the Sunbury location of Milestone Lane for their compassionate care of Logan while his parents were at work. The daily daycare photos brought great joy.
