It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Luis Angel Vega Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. Born on September 17, 1971, Luis unexpectedly left us too soon on November 15, 2023. He was a beacon of kindness, resilience, and passion, qualities that enriched the lives of those around him.
Luis is survived by his beloved wife, Julissa Garabito, and their six beautiful children: daughters Josiara, Chelsea, and Juliana, and sons Angel, Diomel, and Frankie Garabito Vega. Each one held a unique and special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his father, Luis Angel Vega.
Luis, a man of diverse tastes and interests, had an undying affection for simple pleasures. He was a culinary enthusiast who loved rice and beans, burgers, and sandwiches. His favorite beverages were root beer and eggnog. A music lover, he enjoyed the sounds of Linkin Park and Green Day. He loved watching Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, South Park, and WWE. He was also a fan of the Star Wars series and the Matrix. He was an ardent supporter of the Giants and Yankees sports teams. Luis also had a zest for video games, with Spider-Man and Crash Bandicoot being among his favorites.
Apart from his family, Luis committed himself to causes close to his heart, particularly the ASPCS. His love for his local spots, Taco Bell and Burger King, was unmatched.
Known for his smart, funny, stubborn but hardworking nature, Luis had a foodie’s heart and a spirit of gratitude. He often emphasized the importance of gratitude in life and considered his family as his greatest accomplishment.
