Lucille's obituary
Lucille was one of 17 children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred D. Tousignant, of Gardner, MA. Her surviving siblings are Roger, Normand and Ronnie Tousignant and Pauline Miller. She has scores of nieces and nephews, and was dear to, and in touch with many of these over the years.
She was also a dedicated friend to many people, in the various communities in which she resided.
She loved, avidly participated in, and was sustained by her church, and was devoted to Mass and the Sacraments, to studying and reading scripture, and was for many years a teacher of Catholic Sunday School. She spent countless hours in prayer and believed firmly that our Father welcomes, listens to and responds to our intercessions. She was generous, and supported many charities, but especially loved St. Vincent DePaul, where she volunteered for some years. She also had a special love and admiration for the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, a teaching order, the sisters of which taught her through all of her years of education, and the order to which her beloved sisters Doris and Bernadette belonged.
She was a great lover of music of all kinds, and she passed on the joy of music to her family. For many years, she and her husband Ted enjoyed playing bridge with their many friends.
A memorial Mass and celebration of resurrection will take place at St. Patrick’s Manor Chapel on Saturday, May 26th at 11:15 AM. Following Mass a reception for family and friends will be held at a location to be announced. Interment will be private, at the Bayside Cemetery in Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lucille’s memory to “The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary”, 209 Lawrence Street, Methuen, Massachusetts 01844.
