Lucille's obituary

Lucille D. Hudson (Smart), aged 93, bid her final farewell on February 5, 2024, in Salem, Oregon. Born on October 9, 1930, in Libby, Montana, Lucille's life was one of devotion—to her work, to her crafts, and to her family.

During her steadfast career, Lucille served the customers at Ericksons store in Prineville with integrity and wrapped up her professional journey at Wagners, where her warmth in customer service was a true reflection of her character. Beyond her work desk, she was an avid seamstress and crocheter, her hands rarely still as they created comforts and joys for those around her, particularly lap quilts which she generously gifted to veterans.

Lucille's memory is cherished by her loving children Sam Eldridge, Pearl Besand (Norm), and Mack Grimsbo; her legacy further lives on through her grandchildren, Margaret Eldridge(Michael Hodges), Rita Davis(Nick), M’lissa Terrones , and Chris Terrones(Amy), her great-grandchildren Elizabeth Gracey(Kevin), Tiffani Duca(Ross), Kristain Hodges, Valerie Cardenas(Alfredo), Michael A. Hodges, Hunter Hodges(Taylin), Amanda Galiardi, Michael Galiardi, Anna Davis, Grace Davis, Nicolas Davis and the smiles of her great-great-grandchildren b Kristina Eldridge, Abbigail Eldridge, Kayden Duca, Avery Gracey, Carmen Cardenas, Claire Cardenas, Lydia Cardenas, Kenneth Cardenas. Many nieces and nephews. She joins in eternal peace her parents Eldon and Ruby Smart, her siblings Ramona, Uldine, and Rockford, and her great-grandchildren William and Kaitlynn in everlasting rest.

Respected for her faith, Lucille found comfort and community at the Prineville Christian Church. The church doors were always open to her, as was her heart to her faith.

A Celebration of Life service will be warmly held, with details announced in due time, to honor Lucille's rich life. The Prineville funeral home is assisting the family during this time of mourning.

In the hearts of those who knew her, Lucille D. Hudson will be remembered not just for her ability to mend anything with needle and thread, but for her role as the thread that connected and strengthened all who were part of her life's fabric.
