Lucille's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lucille Hansen, who left this world peacefully on February 2, 2025. Lucille was born on March 14, 1945, and lived a life full of love, dedication and service.

Lucille leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband, Victor Hansen, her cherished son, Tom Hansen, her caring brother, Charles Ross, and her dear sister, Marion Steuart. She joins in eternal peace her parents, Clifford and Avis Ross, her brother George, sister-in-law Roxanne Ross, her father and mother-in-law, Lawerence and Sarah Hansen, and a sister-in-law, Sis Hansen.

After graduating from Corry Area School District in 1964, Lucille dedicated much of her life to working in retail. She began her career at G. C. Murphy's Co. in 1972 and later moved to Rite Aid in 2001, retiring in 2024. Despite her health battles, Lucille’s impeccable work ethic never faltered, a testament to her resilience and fortitude.

Lucille was a devout attendee at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Corry, PA. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great comfort in her favorite books, The Bible and Daily Prayers. A thread of simplicity ran through her life. She loved simple comfort food, cherished her pets, and enjoyed the serene beauty of religious and floral art. Elvis’ music, a good game of Uno or Yahtzee, and television favorites like Blue Bloods and NCIS were her go-to sources of joy and relaxation.

She found pleasure in the beauty of everyday life, whether it was in cleaning her home, tending to her house plants, or planning day trips to Erie. Lucille also had a penchant for the color pink, a hue that perfectly represented her gentle yet strong spirit.

Lucille's legacy is one of resilience, kindness, and simple living. She was a caring leader, a hardworking mother, wife and daughter who always advocated love from the heart and strength in character. She battled cancer and Reynaud's disease with a grit that inspired everyone around her.

Lucille's passing leaves a void that can never be filled. Her love for her family, her pets, and God was unparalleled. However, the lessons she shared and the love she gave will continue to inspire and guide us. Her spirit will live on in all who knew her and were touched by her kindness.
