Luc's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father, Luc Truong, on October 22, 2022 at the age of 65 after a three year battle with Dementia. He died peacefully in the loving care of providers at Bethany Riverview LTC, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Born on June 10th, 1957 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Thanh Ngo (mother) and Cam Truong (father), Luc was the youngest of six children.
In a serendipitous encounter in 1985, Luc met Thuy Quach, his now wife, while purchasing cigarettes from her. It must have been love at first sight since the pair quickly married later that year. In their 37 years of marriage, he became a father to three children: Linh Truong, Tony Truong, and Kathy Truong.
His youngest daughter would describe him as a loving father who was "very easy-going". Her older sister would disagree and describes him "ruling with an iron fist". Tony had no comment. One thing his children will never forget is that he always made sure they were where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. He taught them patience and the importance of being on time because they would get an earful if he had to wait two minutes... His children now expects this of the people around them though rarely living up to these ideals themselves (sorry dad).
While his family is saddened by the limited time they got to share with Luc, they are comforted knowing that he has shed the physical burdens of this life and his eternal soul will live on. There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, November 3rd at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Vietnamese Buddhist tradition. His body will be laid to rest on Friday, November 4th in the Eternal Garden at Mountain View Cemetery.
