Background
Lourdes cared about many causes, but closest to her heart were children in the foster care system. She was involved in Miami-Dade's Guardian ad Litem program, which advocates for abused, abandoned, and neglected children in the court's system. Anyone who knows Lourdes knows she was a fierce and dedicated advocate.
In lieu of flowers, Lourdes's family is asking for donatiosn to Voices for Children. Voices For Children raises funds to support Miami-Dade's Guardian Ad Litem Program in their efforts to recruit, train, and support Guardians Ad Litem, court appointed volunteers who serve as advocates for the best interests of the children involved in dependency court proceedings. Additionally, Voices For Children provides direct financial assistance and other resources to meet these children's medical, educational, and social needs.
