Louis's obituary

Louis (Louie) was a kind and caring brother, husband and father. He was always smiling, laughing and treasured his own family and his larger family of Abuelita Ramona, Mother Trinidad and 14 siblings.

Dad passed away in Tucson, Arizona on October, 22nd, 2024 at the age of 79. He was born on January, 13, 1945 to Joseph and Trinidad Ybarra. In 1967, he met and married the love of his life Carol at St. Mary’s Church and later, had children, Louis II and Julie. He supported us through our education and extracurricular activities and family vacations. Papa cherishes his grandsons, Jack and Cullum. Dad built a 47-year career with Stewart Beverage Corp. partnered with his close sibling, John in the process forging a Pepsi-legacy out of a fledgling soft drink distributor into a dominate provider across 5 Illinois counties.

Dad loved the large Ybarra family gatherings where he played softball & volleyball, billiards and enjoyed Mariachi & Ranchero music, lest we forget his passion for entertaining with his Maracas! Dad was a big fan of sports teams…the Cubs, Yankees, Bears, and Notre Dame.

Louie is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Elaine, son, Louis II, daughter, Julie Ybarra Antonsen, son-in-law Richard Antonsen and grandsons Jack and Cullum Antonsen; brothers, John (& Mary), Larry (& Mardi), Fr. Manuel, Benjamin; sisters, Susan Arocho (& Fermin), Martha Elizondo (& Jesus), Dolly Blair (& William), and Maria Ybarra. Preceding him in death; Mother Trinidad Ybarra and Abuelita Ramona Segoviano; brothers, Frank, Ray, Joseph, Felix; sisters, Mary Rodriguez, and Dolores Cuevas.
