Louis's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Louis Olsen, on June 26, 2025. A much-loved husband, father, and grandfather, Louis enriched the lives of those around him with his warm and vibrant personality. Born on October 11, 1932, his life's journey was marked with kindness, humility, and undying love for his dear family and friends.
Leaving behind a lasting legacy, Louis is survived by his caring wife Mary Olsen, his devoted sons Ken Olsen and Stanley Olsen, his loving daughters Karen Olsen and Janet Olsen, and his cherished grandchildren; Samantha Olsen, Jackson Olsen, and Peter Klinge. His memory will forever be etched in their hearts.
Louis had a deep appreciation for music particularly Frank Sinatra, and was quite fond of TV shows with his favorite being Friends. His taste in movies was impeccable, with 'It's a Wonderful Life' being his absolute favorite. A man of varied interests, he had a flair for the arts and enjoyed the works of Monet. He also relished the thrill of competition, whether it was watching his favorite sports team, Utah Jazz or playing games like Life and Monopoly.
Among his favorite pastimes were fishing and reading, usually accompanied by his favorite beef casserole or a refreshing Shirley Temple. He was particularly fond of walking along the Salt Flats for exercise and held Farrs Ice Cream in high regard as his favorite local spot. His love for travel took him to many places, but he held a special place in his heart for Venice, Italy.
Louis was more than just his hobbies and interests though. Actively involved in causes close to his heart, he regularly supported the Utah Food Bank and ASPCA. His love for the color turquoise reflected his lively spirit. He often shared that learning the hard way makes the easier way that much easier, a lesson learned from his greatest accomplishment of sailing around the globe twice.
Louis's legacy of kindness and humility will forever be remembered. Those who knew him were touched by his warm heart and those who loved him will miss him deeply. He has left this world, but his spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
