Louis's obituary
Louisson Louis, Louisson’ Louis’ or Louis as he was affectionately called, holds a special place in our hearts and will be remembered well. Husband, Dad, Friend and most importantly to him, servant of the most high God - “Jehovah” as he would say.
Louis was an excellent speaker and animated storyteller. His voice was loud, robust, and brought excitement to the listener. He knew when to laugh, when to be serious and how to convey a lasting message. He imparted wisdom and guidelines to lead a structured and organized life. He believed in discipline, “Bad planning on your part, and does not constitute an emergency on my part” he’d remind us. But all in all he would not let you down.
To know him was to love him, to be challenged by him and most certainly to benefit from his kind nature and rich sense of humor. Without a doubt Louisson was a man of strong convictions; his beliefs, which governed his behavior and high standard of excellence, were shared whole heartedly with all who would lend an ear to listen.
Louis was charitable and gave of his time and resources generously. He remembered those that were less fortunate and regularly supported humanitarian efforts. He considered those that were sick, hungry, afflicted... and mercifully he shared. Not out of abundance but out of a sacrificial desire to do so.
Those who knew him best appreciated his ability to not only make plans, but to execute them to the fullest extent. From carpentry, and gardening, to videography and mastering Zoom meetings. Louisson was no slacker. He asked questions, did the research and even through trial and error, he always managed to figure things out. “You have to study the nature of the system,” he would say. You could always count on him to bring a plan to fruition.
One of his areas of interest that turned into expertise was gardening and landscaping. Louis enjoyed horticulture and along with his wife took great care in maintaining a beautiful and bountiful garden. In addition to perfectly lined hedges, his little paradise yielded bountiful fruits and vegetables. Plantains, bananas, mango, pineapple, corn, okra, beans and sugar cane are among the harvest. The seemingly hard work of planting and consistency of watering and tilling was not in vain and brought him great joy. The bright flowers and radiant plants made our home all the more beautiful. The fruit from “the little paradise” always tasted better having invested in their growth.
Beautiful as it was, it did not compare to the ultimate Paradise that Louis longed for. The true Paradise that he strategically dedicated multiple hours each day to tell others about. The true paradise where there are no weeds and the worm does not destroy; the promised Paradise that believers will one day inhabit. If you had the opportunity to know him, to speak with him, debate with him, you know that this truth was his guiding compass.
Matthew 25:23 KJV
“His Lord said unto him, well done good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things."
