Louis's obituary
Born in Los Angeles, California to Joseph and Faye Friedman, Lenny was an athletic and intelligent young man. Lenny was fiercely passionate about all sports, especially baseball from the start, and dedicated his life to both his pursuit of public school teaching and his family.
After he graduated, Lenny landed his first teaching job as a substitute teacher. This kickstarted a career as an elementary public school special education teacher. In 1952, Lenny met his wife, Helen, and went on to have one child. Lenny put family first, always, and was a dedicated father. His child, Elliot Friedman, went on to pursue a career as a Chiropractor.
Lenny was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family.
Lenny was also involved in rebuilding classic Fords, a car enthusiast, a member of the Elks Lodge, enjoyed square-dancing, and a world-traveler. He spent most of his retirement relaxing and being with family.
Lenny was predeceased by his parents and sister, Charlotte Short, and leaves behind his family and friends. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park 27501 South Western Avenue Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Refreshments will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Mimi's Cafe at 25343 Crenshaw Blvd. Torrance, CA 90505
