Louis Aubrey Wynne Jr., 89, born in Memphis, TN, husband of Carol J. Wynne, died December 6, 2023, in Germantown, TN, from complications of COVID 19-Pneumonia. He was born July 12, 1934, to his beloved parents, Louis Aubrey Wynne Sr. and Arrabelle Tucker Wynne.
Lou successfully earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Tachikawa, Japan. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of duty, responsibility, and loyalty that he carried with him throughout his life. His employment with Smith, Kline & French Labs as a pharmaceutical sales representative brought him to Rochester, New York. Lou retired after 25 years of service. After retirement, he kept himself busy as a volunteer fireman, working on a golf course, and as a church deacon. He had been a member of Episcopal congregations in Rochester, NY; Sanford, NC; Bluffton, SC; Richmond, TX; and Greenwood, SC, and he had recently become a member of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Collierville, TN, along with his wife, Carol, before his passing.
Lou is survived by his cherished wife, Carol, his dear children Jeffrey L. Wynne (Lynne) of Stratford, CT; Jennifer Prep of Houston, TX; Julia Wynne of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Dylan (Cailey), Ian, and Jacob; his brother Terry Wynne (Sue); his sister Judy Handwerker; and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lou loved golf. He was also a big Memphis Tigers fan and loved photography, travel, nature, classic movies, birds and of course, his computer. He was a very social man and often surrounded by friends and family. He loved life and always had a positive attitude. He will be fondly remembered for his love, loyalty and laughter.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Lou's life will be held at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Collierville, Tennessee, on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 10:30 am.
He will be laid to rest at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in a private service.
