Lori's obituary

Lorraine Elizabeth Saviski, lovingly known as Lori to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on April 6, 1945, in the heart of Chicago, IL, Lori brought light and love into the world, a legacy that she carried with her to her final days in Darien, IL. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, love, dedication, friendship and an unwavering faith.

Lori was the cherished wife of William Saviski, her devoted partner in a marriage that flourished for 58 beautiful years. She was a beloved mother to Laura (Mike) Stigge, Jennifer Padavic, and Bill (Jennifer) Saviski. Lori's love and guidance shaped the lives of both her children and grandchildren; her spirit will continue to live on through them. She was an adored grandmother to Garrett, Olivia, Dusten, Madeline, Bradley, Juliana, Katie, Michael, and Teddy, each of them holding a special place in her heart.

Lori was the daughter of the late Joseph Domark and the late Lorraine Rautis, and a caring sister to the late Dennis (late Linda) Domark and Richard (Marilyn) Domark. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

For 25 years, Lori dedicated her life to shaping young minds as a kindergarten teacher at Gower West Elementary School in Willowbrook IL. She poured her heart into her teaching and her students’ growth. She was dedicated to learning their individual needs, strengths, desires and nurturing their ability to grow and flourish in her classroom. Through her patient teaching, caring demeanor and love for learning, she has left an indelible mark on countless lives. Her commitment to education and the well-being of her students was evident in every classroom she led and every child’s life she influenced.

Lori's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. As a devout Christian, she lived a life full of grace and compassion, inspiring those around her to embrace love, kindness and grow their faith. She had such passion to be in community with and serve others that she surrounded herself with groups of friends that enriched all aspects of her life. Whether it was her church & service community, bible study community, Sunday school community, her tennis community or her community of family and friends, she embedded herself into our lives with her generous service, selfless support and passionate love for each of us along her life journey. Her faith-filled approach to life's challenges was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew her.

Lori's interests were deeply rooted in the joy of family and being young at heart. Her love of her family & grandkids as well as tennis kept her active and ageless. She had such a passion for tennis, whether it was playing it until the age of 79 or watching it with the love of her life. She also reveled in watching her children, and then, grandchildren play sports or perform dance & music, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. She was their greatest cheerleader and boundless supporter of all of their desires and interests. The time spent with her family was precious, and she treasured every moment, every milestone, and every shared laughter.

Described by those who knew her best as a loving, nurturing, generous, passionate and faith-filled wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, Lori's impact on those around her was profound. She was a force for good and positive energy to her family, friends, and the countless children whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.

Lori's life was one of giving, and her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of experiencing her warmth and generosity. As we bid farewell to Lori Saviski, let us honor her memory by living with the same kindness, generosity, love and passion for life that she exemplified every day of her remarkable life. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Visitation and Celebration of Life service are on Saturday, October 4th at 10:30am and 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (8404 South Cass Ave., Darien, IL  60561).
