It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Barthels/Westling, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024. Born on September 21, 1944, Lorraine lived a life filled with love, compassion, and determination.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Westling, and their three daughters, Vicki Westling, Sheila Jonas, and Bobbie Harper. Her brother Larry Barthels ,She was a proud grandmother to Amanda K., Andrea W., Erica H., Deavon H., Samantha J., Madalyn J., Derrek H., Luke J., Grant J., Sophia J., and Jenna J., Ava H. And many great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
Lorraine's zest for life was evident in her fondness for music, especially the tunes of Allen Jackson. She was an ardent supporter of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings, her enthusiasm becoming a familiar presence during the sports season. She dearly loved her grandkids and great grandchildren
An epitome of resilience, Lorraine was a beacon of love, warmth, and kindness. Her personality brought joy and comfort to those around her. One of her cherished traditions involved crafting stamp cards for every holiday, a practice loved and looked forward to by everyone in the family.
Lorraine's favorite color, blue, was a reflection of her serene and tranquil nature. She taught us valuable lessons in resilience and the power of love. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known her.
