Lori's obituary

Lori Lynn Mosolf, age 61, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 15, 2025 at her Santa Clarita Valley home. Three weeks prior, she and her family received the shocking news that she was terminally ill – a prognosis she bore with her signature quiet resilience and selflessness that forever touched the lives of all who knew her.

Lori was born on September 2, 1963 in the town of La Crescenta, CA to John and Virginia Wolfer. Her father – affectionately known as the “gentle giant” at 6’6” and beloved veterinarian in town – made an indelible imprint on Lori and spurned her lifelong love of music and the Lord. Her mother – a Santo Tomas Internment Camp survivor in World War II – helped forge her ability to push through hardship with courage.

Lori earned both her Bachelor’s & Master’s Degrees from Pepperdine University – a tradition carried on proudly by her son years later. After graduating her MBA program at the top of her class, she chose to prioritize her family and her favorite job – being a mom. She was a world-class bookkeeper for over 30 years, renowned for her steadfast integrity and ability to help numerous businesses turn around their financial position quickly.

Lori was known for her sharp intellect and quick, dry wit; her love of Jeopardy, Dancing with the Stars and Big Bang theory; her fondness for the beach and her absolute favorite drink – Fiji water; and most importantly to her, her faith in Jesus Christ. She put others first always with kindness and humility and made those around her better people for knowing her.

Lori is survived and missed dearly by her husband of 35 years (Bill), her daughter (Rachel), her son (JJ), daughter-in-law (Emily), and grandson (Brooks). She is also survived by her two sisters (Leslie Sherman and Lisa West). Her memory will be forever cherished by lifelong friends – her church and beach group (CBBC), her Birthday Bunch, and longtime neighbors & dear friends the McKee’s – amongst many others.

Lori’s life and legacy will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2025 – the day she met her husband – at 11am at Crossroads Community Church in Valencia, CA. Memorial contributions can be made at the following link for those who wish to do so.

The Mosolf family is eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family through this challenging time. A special thanks to the Nims and McKee families who went above and beyond to care for Lori and the family in the weeks following her diagnosis.
