LORI's obituary
LORI J. COOK passed away July 18, 2022, in Kingwood, TX at the age of 73. Her love was music, animals, nature, family and friends, and was a proud encouraging member of Alcoholics Anonymous. She never met an animal that she didn't think of as anything but a "Sweetie." She used Sweetie as a term of respect and love to all.
LORI was born on November 24, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Paul F. Cook and Barbara M. Blair. LORI’s childhood was shared with her brother, Newt, sister Mary and brother David. A lover of the Upper Peninsula, a YOOPER. She was known for caring and giving and helped out with her family. LORI worked many jobs, and retired as a medical Histologist. She often volunteered with animal rescues.
She was very proud of her AA family and the lessons and programs in life she was involved in. She believed that the 12 step program could benefit every human being.
Animal rescues were a huge part of her life always. After moving to Texas from Virginia, she spent time volunteering for the Boston Terrier Rescue and working with her new AA family. She was immensely proud of her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She believed our world could be improved if everyone simply dedicated a little bit of their time towards the common good.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Newt (Connie) of Marquette, MI, sister Mary of Kingwood, TX, and brother David of Sault St. Marie, MI. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
