Lori's obituary

Dolores "Lori" Marie Hartnett (née Partsch), born on November 24, 1960, in Maryland, passed away on January 4, 2018, in Winchester, Virginia. Her life was one of vibrant energy, deep compassion, and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Lori was the beloved daughter of Dolores and Kenneth and grew up in a large, blended family that played a central role in her life. She is remembered by her step mother Gail, siblings Kimberley, Lisa, Michelle, Mike, Kimmy, Kathy, Karen, Kenny, and Krystin. She also leaves behind many first and second cousins, nieces, and nephews whose lives were touched by her warmth and humor.

A devoted mother to her two children, Jessica and Daniel, Lori often said she had two children so they would always have each other to carry on her legacy. She instilled in them the importance of unity and mutual support through all of life’s challenges. Her greatest wish was for her family to remain united in love and peace—especially in their care for her children and grandchildren.

Lori’s early education included Catholic private school before she graduated from Osborne Park High School in Manassas, Virginia. Her career path was as dynamic as her personality. As a teenager, she worked at a dog kennel—a reflection of her lifelong love for animals. She later held positions with AT&T before it became wireless, drove tow trucks with confidence and grit, and brought joy to many as a bartender.

Her passions were as diverse as her experiences. Lori loved journaling and found solace in putting pen to paper. She cherished time spent with friends and family, whether it was over the phone or at lively gatherings filled with music. A true enthusiast of the open road and high-octane thrills, she enjoyed driving trucks and racing them—a pursuit that showcased her adventurous spirit.

Music was a cornerstone of Lori’s life. She not only loved attending concerts but made them a shared experience with her children by bringing them along to festivals. For Lori, music was more than entertainment—it was a way to connect across generations and express emotion beyond words.

Raised Roman Catholic, Lori’s spiritual journey evolved into one that embraced all faiths. She believed every religious perspective held value and purpose. With empathy at the heart of her beliefs, she encouraged open-mindedness in her children and saw every person as an equal. Her spirituality extended into astrology and a broader sense of universal connection that shaped how she interacted with the world—with compassion, understanding, and acceptance.

Lori will be remembered for her humor, wholesomeness, and the fierce love she had for those around her. Her legacy lives on through Jessica and Daniel—her pride and joy—and through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and authenticity.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her and serve as a reminder of the power of love, unity, and living life with an open heart.
