Lori's obituary

Obituary for Lori Faye (Steinman) Crossett

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of Lori Faye Crossett of Ellensburg, Washington. A woman of grace and kindness, Lori was born in Long Beach, California on September 10, 1957, and peacefully passed away on July 30, 2024, with her daughters and sister-in-law at her side. Her soul radiated warmth, kindness, and patience, touching countless lives with her unique spirit.

Lori was the beloved daughter of Paul and Shirley Steinman. She was the youngest of three children and deeply cherished her two older brothers, Paul Jr. and Bill. After completing her schooling in Long Beach, Lori moved to Washington State with her brothers and best friend, Julie, who would later become her sister-in-law.

In 1972, Lori met Bruce Crossett, her one true love and soulmate. They married in 1979 and had two daughters, Breanna (Crossett) Willis in 1983 and Nicole Crossett in 1985, who became the center of Lori's world. Lori started her career in the mortgage escrow business in her early twenties while Bruce worked in the used car industry. Together, they founded Crossett Cars Inc. in Renton, Washington, in 1976. Seeking a change, they relocated their family and business to Ellensburg, WA, in 1993. In 1996, they purchased and restored an old 1936 Gilmore Gas Station, leading to the creation of the Red Horse Diner, which opened in 2001. Lori eventually left her career in the escrow business in the late 1990s to focus on the family businesses.

The year 2008 was immense for Lori. Her daughter Breanna married Todd Willis, and Lori became a grandmother to her grandson, Tristan Willis. The following year, she welcomed her granddaughter, Taeya Willis. Lori adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them, finding immense joy in their presence.

Known for her kind soul, attentive listening, and unwavering friendship, Lori will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a firm believer in the power of love and acceptance, living her life without judgment and encouraging others to do the same.

Lori is preceded in death by her father Paul Steinman Sr., step-father Jerry Vertigan, mother Shirley Vertigan, and brothers Paul Jr. and Bill Steinman. She leaves behind her lifetime partner Bruce Crossett (Laura), daughters Breanna and Nicole, sister-in-law and best friend Julie Steinman (Clark), step-mother Margie Steinman, nephews Billy Steinman (Gina), Jason Crossett, Robert Crossett, and Jacob Crossett, nieces Andrea Crossett, Sarah Pendergrass (Thomas), Kari Halley (Chris), grandchildren Tristan and Taeya Willis, two great-nieces, four great-nephews, and countless friends.

A funeral service to honor Lori's life and legacy will be held on August 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park at 23717 SE 416th St., Enumclaw, WA 98022. We invite all those who were touched by Lori's spirit to join us in commemorating her beautiful life.

While Lori's physical presence is no longer with us, the memories of her warmth, kindness, and patient spirit will remain forever in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
