Loretta Feitz (née Grado), age 65, passed away on February 6, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on September 5, 1960, Loretta lived a life defined by selflessness, deep faith, and an extraordinary love for others.

Loretta was, in every sense of the word, a servant-hearted woman and a prayer warrior. Her faith in Jesus was the driving force of her life, and those who spent time with her often said they felt the love of Christ simply by being in her presence. She loved her family fiercely and without condition, and that love extended far beyond her own children. Loretta was truly a mother to all.

For fifteen years, she worked in childcare, caring for countless children as if they were her own. At church, she faithfully taught Sunday school for over 30 years and lovingly led the “Daisies,” a faith-based club for young girls, planting seeds of faith that will continue to grow for generations. Children were naturally drawn to her warmth and steady presence.

Loretta was the heart of her family. After the death of her parents, Jesse and Marie Grado, she helped raise her younger sisters, Nancy and Stephanie, becoming a maternal figure and the matriarch of her siblings. Her home was always the gathering place, because it was filled with love and a sense of belonging. Everyone knew that if you needed comfort or care, Loretta’s door was open.

She had a tender, sentimental heart. She collected Precious Moments figurines, loved romantic comedies and the Hallmark Channel, and never missed cheering on her beloved Kansas City Royals. These small joys reflected her gentle spirit and her ability to find beauty in the simple things.

For four years, Loretta fought a courageous battle with cancer, meeting each day with grace and unwavering faith. Even in her final moments, she continued to love and serve others, comforting her family from her deathbed as they wept, reassuring them with the same strength and compassion she had shown her entire life.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Richard James Feitz, Jr.; her children, Richard James Feitz III and Jennifer Marie McCon; and her thirteen cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Jesse, Paul, Carol, Melchor, Nancy, and Stephanie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Marie Grado, and her sisters Patricia and Mary.

A visitation will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at Sheffield Family Life Center, 5700 Winner Road, Kansas City, Missouri.

In lieu of donations, the family kindly requests red roses to be displayed at Loretta’s service, surrounding her with her favorite flower. The family also welcomes cards sharing memories and stories of how Loretta touched your life.

Though we grieve deeply, we rejoice in knowing that Loretta’s life was a living testament to love, faith, and quiet sacrifice. In losing her, we have all lost a mother, but her legacy of Christlike love will continue to live on in every life she touched.
