Pinky's obituary
Lorene lone Hanchard, also known as our beloved Pinky, was born on February 23, 1951 in Kingston, Jamaica. Born to Lydell Baxter-Hanchard and Hepburn Hanchard, being one of the youngest of nine siblings. To every one that knew her beautiful soul, knew that she was beyond any measure of caring, loving, nurturing, loyal, ambitious and the list continues on.
Pinky migrated to New York with her loving family in the late 60's and made a life there as an ambitious young women. With her beautiful vocals she was a part of the music industry as a back up singer for many large artists at that time such as Harlem River Drive and Studio 54. She was also known for her exquisite eye and expertise for fashion design.
Pinky met and fell in love with Leon Henderson welcoming a beautiful baby girl Magan Liane Hanchard on June 3, 1983, whom she adored dearly. In the late 80's Lorene took her love for patient care and shifted her career into the medical field where she settled in Norfolk, Virginia with her daughter Magan, twin sister Rosie and brother Donny. She was always drawn to the water and loved outings on the beach with family, Sunday Crab Days and hosting many family gatherings where she would cook the most delicious spreads.
She retired and settled in Orlando, Florida to be near her daughter, granddaughters Zeniah and Heaven, sister Pam, and special addition, her great granddaughter Alayah. On March 5, 2024 our dear Lorene "Pinky" Hanchard, was called home to be with our lord and savior. Her spirit will be loved on earth forever, she will live on for eternity. Lorene will be sorely missed by her daughter Magan, granddaughters Zeniah and Heaven, Great granddaughter Alayah, Sisters Sheila and Pammy, Brothers George, Clarence and Donny. She will also be mourned by a host of loved ones, family and friends and so many more to mention.
