Loren's obituary
Loren James Delaney, a man of deep principle, quiet strength, and tireless service, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on December 7, 1938, Loren lived a life marked by integrity, intellect, and a deep commitment to others. After serving honorably in the United States Army, Loren continued his dedication to global service by joining the Peace Corps, where he brought education and compassion to communities in need. Upon returning home, he found his lifelong calling as a mathematics teacher, where his sharp mind, patience, and gentle humor impacted generations of students.
Loren was a man of steady friendships and lifelong bonds. His best friend, Jim Evans, remains to honor the memory of a friendship that spanned decades. He is also survived by his beloved wife, Patsy Delaney, who stood by his side through every season of life.
Those who knew Loren will remember his quiet wisdom, his dry wit, and his unwavering commitment to doing what was right. He never sought the spotlight, but his influence ran deep—for his students, his colleagues, his friends, and his family.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local school or educational program in Loren’s memory, to continue his legacy of learning and service.
