Loraine's obituary
She was laid to rest in Tabor, May 26, 2021, at Bickham Cemetery, Bryan, Tx.
Loraine was born April 26, 1949, in Hannibal Missouri, to Orville R & Alice M Norris Gott. She was the fourth child born, with three big brother's to watch out for her! She attended elementary school in Hannibal until the family moved to Bryan,Tx., where she attended school, and graduated from Stephen F Austin High School (Go BRONCOS!) She played the Clarinet in the SFA Bronco Band and graduated class of '67.
Not long after, she was introduced to a good 'ol country boy, Gene Nichols. Little did she know, he would become her Dancing partner, Best friend, Love of her Life and Soulmate and she would become his and his country girl and Farmer's Wife!
That special day came, March 7, 1969, in her mom & dad's livingroom, where Loraine & Gene said their I DO's!
Later Loraine & Gene were Blessed with two Beautiful daughter's, Tracy & Amy.
They moved to Baytown, Tx., where she was a Key Punch Operator, for the ISD. They later moved back to Bryan, Tx., where she worked at the Brazos County Courthouse, until her retirement.
Loraine loved to dance, play pool (some even say she was a pool shark!) The countrylife fit her perfect, she even fell off her horse, but got up and back on! She loved her grandbabies, friends, family, her furbabies and crocheting. She loved Christ and had the Faith, in her and in her heart.
Loraine was a breast cancer survivor, but later in life, she had to fight the horrible disease, Dementia. Which will not let you win. It took her before we knew it. She was a strong country woman, a fighter and she fought it to the end.
Loraine was preceded in death by her parent's and in law's. Orville R & Alice M Norris Gott and Frankie & Mary Nichols.
Brother's and sister's in law's, Howard L Gott & wife Margaret, Kenneth "Kenn" R Gott, Gary O Gott and Dixie L Nichols Everett.
Great Nephew, Anthony D Gott and Nephew, WJ (Bubba/J) Everett lll
Loraine leaves behind many loved ones, to cherish her memories.
Her husband, Frankie E (Gene) Nichols of 52 years, 2 mths & nine day's., daughter's and son's in law's, Amy Martinez & husband Ricky Sr. and Tracy Shelly & husband Brent.
Six grandchildren and their wife's. Justin Crowson & wife Amy, Mason Crowson and Brianna Crowson. Alex Mendez & wife Serena, Janell Mendez and Ricky Martinez.
Two great granddaughter's and two greatgrandson's.
Three sister's in law's and a brother in law, Judy Gott, Stella Gott and Dale Nichols & wife Carol.
Seven niece's, Robin Gott Penicka & husband Bobby, Heather Gott Tyler & husband Steve, Tanna Gott Wright & husband Chris and Stephanie Castoria Manry & husband Donnie.
Vickie Everett Tway & husband William Jr., Christen Nichols Schaffer & husband Bubba and Carla Jean Nichols Wilkinson.
Four nephew's, Howard Gott Jr. & wife Carol, Preston Gott & wife Tina, Keith Gott & wife Myra and David Gott & wife Jennifer.
Several great nieces, great great nieces, great nephews, great great nephews and many family members.
If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.
