Lonnie's obituary

Lonnie Carpenter, age 68, passed away on September 29, 2024, only weeks after the loss of his beloved wife of 34 years, Anne Carpenter, who died on September 9, 2024. Though his passing may be attributed to natural causes, those who knew him well believe he died of a broken heart. His love for Anne was profound and unwavering, a bond that was evident to all who saw them together.

Lonnie is survived by his son, Jason Carpenter, his daughter, Lori Carpenter Gladson, and his grandsons, Austin Jessie and Seth Gladson, who brought him endless joy and pride. His family meant everything to him, and he was deeply devoted to each of them.

Born and raised in Spencer, Lonnie spent much of his life working the land, tending to the farm he cherished. He found peace and fulfillment in the simple joys of life—working the soil, being surrounded by nature, and watching his family grow. His quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his wife and family will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honor of Lonnie’s wishes, there will not be a traditional funeral service. The family will hold a private, closed funeral, reserving this time for loved ones to gather and remember the man who meant so much to them.

The Carpenter family would like to express their deep appreciation to everyone who has reached out during this difficult time. Your kind words and gestures of support have been a great comfort as they navigate the profound loss of both Lonnie and Anne in such a short time. Please know that while they may not be able to respond to each message personally, your thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Lonnie’s legacy of love and devotion to his family will live on in their hearts forever.
