Lolita's obituary

Lolita Berg, 86, of Katy, TX, passed away on December 12, 2022, surrounded by her friends and family.

Lolita, born on March, 19 1936 to Jose Maria Duran and Dorothy Amelia Duran in Philadelphia, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Lolita went on to graduate from Miami High in 1954  as an honor student. After graduating from high school, Lolita went on to pursue a degree in nursing.

Lolita served her country in the United States Air Force, as a labor and delivery nurse.  While serving in the US Airforce, she met Ernest Roy Berg and the two were married in Oakland, California in 1967.  Mom and Dad were married for over 49 years and raised two children , Charles William and Dorothy Suzanne.

Lolita was a fiercely dedicated mom to both of her children, raising them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to Lolita, a value she instilled in all those around her. She was a storyteller who smiled regularly and loved to make others laugh. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Lolita was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Ernest Roy Berg, her father, Jose Maria Duran,  mother, Dorothy Amelia Duran, two siblings, Joseph Duran and Romana Ackerman. She is survived by her son, Charles William Berg, her daughter Dorothy Suzanne Asim, 3 loving grandchildren Emily Suzanne, Sean Jacob and Trey Charles, as well as a loving nephew Laird Duran and two loving nieces Roni Herninko and Gini Black.  Services will be held at Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, January 20th at 12:45PM, followed by a memorial dinner at 6pm in Dorothy's home.  Please send any flowers for the family to 24418 Arbor Landing Lane, Katy, TX 77493 as they are not permitted in the national cemetery.
