Background
Lola Williams was a true Placerita Canyon original — a beloved animal lover, devoted horsewoman, and one of the kindest souls you could ever hope to meet.
Lola made Placerita Canyon her home in 1961, and many longtime canyon residents will remember her corner lot and her prized stud, Pico, with his beautiful spots. Her love for animals was lifelong and unwavering. Horses, dogs, and especially her beloved chickens — her cherished “babies” — were at the heart of her daily life right up until the very end.
Lola was the kind of person who was always looking out for others. She helped neighbors, supported friends, and offered kindness wherever she could, even in her final days. Her presence was gentle, generous, and deeply rooted in this community.
Lola is survived by her son, Roy — another long-time community member here in the canyon — along with her chickens and their two dogs. Roy now faces the emotional weight of losing his mother while also navigating the unexpected expenses that come with end-of-life arrangements.
We are asking for community support to help cover Lola’s end-of-life expenses. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be profoundly appreciated and would help ease one burden from Roy’s shoulders during this incredibly difficult time.
If Lola ever touched your life, shared a story, offered help, or simply made you smile as you passed her place in the canyon, this is a way to honor her legacy of compassion and love.
Thank you for holding Lola and Roy in your hearts. 💛
