I was very shocked to learn of Lois's passing. Lois talked withed me about finding my biological family. Lois had a lot of great advice. She will be greatly missed

Lois was one of those people who everyone loved. She was really amazing. When Pat and I started dating, she welcomed me with open arms. I remember one time when we were young, no kids, and Barry was off hunting with some buddies. I was at Lois’ when Barry phoned wanting Lois to come to Boston Bar to pick them up. The truck broke down and they were pissed. Well, Lois asked me if I wanted to go on a road trip with her. Of course I said yes! Well, Lois only had the Volkswagen bug. We didn’t think about putting 3 guys in the backseat until we got there! We poured them into the back seat and drove home. Good thing they didn’t get anything! What a trip!

We first met Lois in Sept 2016 when we moved in right next door. Her and Bruce introduced themselves as "The Neighbors" - then explained that it meant more than just living next door. They were the best neighbours anyone could wish for. Truly!
We often found ourselves talking through the fence in the garden... (the fence that her and Bruce so kindly constructed while Brad and I were working "We'll do it, you two are busy and we've got nothing better to do" ) It brought us together often - we both love gardening and talking, especially about food and recipes. We shared recipes and dishes. The famous Instapot cheesecake was the best, and having a cuppa together while she taught me how to make it was a special time. She convinced me it was worth having an Instapot in my kitchen!
Lois kindly took our girls in for scrapbooking sessions, generously giving her time and supplies. They loved it and they loved Lois.
The last time I visited with Lois, we were chatting in the driveway. It wasn't long before she left us and Lois was wearing her pj's (as she often did - love...) and walking Luna. I probably saw her in her pyjamas as often as her clothes - haha - and I loved how comfortable Lois was just to be herself. I kinda want to wear my pj's to her celebration of life as a final hurrah for Lois - PJ's rule... but I won't.
We feel so blessed to have shared a fence with Lois and Bruce. Both of them so kind and gentle. Lois, so compassionate, generous, kind, loving, fun loving and funny. And not to forget, such incredible strength, always taking care of others. I wish she could have given us all a chance to take care of her, but she left us too soon - way too soon... Lois was a beautiful human being that I'm grateful to have known, even for just a short time.
Our condolences to Bruce and all the loved ones Lois left behind. And especially to you Maria - because watching Lois parent a teen has been the greatest gift for me. Her lessons are in place now and proving to be more valuable than learning how to make a cheesecake in the Instapot. Maria, if you take on just a portion of your Grandmas special qualities, you'll do just great girl xx.

Living first in a different province, and then across the Strait, I never saw Lois much in person. Just at family reunions and get togethers and later as Facebook friends. She was always so nice, and such a happy personality, that I immediately felt comfortable with her. I was always impressed by Lois' attitude. She just seemed to get stuck in and get things done. I am a procrastinator, and I envied her determination. Such a lovely person, gone too soon. Heartfelt condolences to Bruce and the rest of the immediate family.

Thinking of you and your family as you celebrate the life of your beloved, wife, mother, and grandmother. Lois was an amazing, gifted woman whose talents never seized to amaze those around her. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Kate, what can I say. Frank and I were both amazed a by your mum’s strength , energy and commitment to family. Which was good because we became family. Your mom and I were both delighted to become in-laws officially. I am so sorry we didn’t get more time together . We love you , condolences to Bruce , and your family! You are your Mother’s daughter ❤️
