Lois's obituary

LIVONIA - Lois Jean Mize, 83, passed away on February 11, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan.

Lois lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication to her family and community.

Lois enjoyed a fulfilling career in early childhood education, nurturing young minds with care and compassion. In her later years, she extended that same kindness to elderly clients, providing them with comfort and companionship. Her work reflected her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Lois found strength and solace in her relationship with God. Her devotion to the Catholic Church was a cornerstone of her life. She drew joy from prayer, strength from the sacraments, and peace from God’s promises. Her faith guided her through every season of life and inspired those around her.

Lois cherished time spent with loved ones and friends. She had a passion for playing cards and was an active participant in monthly card games and social club gatherings. Whether hosting or attending these events, she brought warmth and laughter to every occasion. Lois also expressed her creativity through arts and crafts and generously volunteered her time to provide comfort to hospice care patients.

Family was at the heart of Lois’s life, she leaves behind many loving family members and treasured close friends that she maintained for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her son, parents, one sister and one nephew.

Lois’s legacy is one of love, faith, and service. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the words: “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose.”

Rest in peace Lois—Mom, Big Sis Lo, Grammy, Aunt Lo, and Friend—you are deeply missed but forever cherished.

The family welcomes your prayers and Mass intentions for the repose of Lois’s soul.

"Lord of mercy, today I place this dear

soul into Your loving hands.

I let go with tears, but also with trust.

Thank You for the life that was lived...

Where there was pain bring healing.

Carry this soul gently into Your

presence and surround them with

Your peace that never fades."

Amen
