Lois's obituary

Lois Lynn, age 97, passed away peacefully on February 20,  2026, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born February 16th 1929, in Derry, Pennsylvania, Lois lived a long and vibrant life marked by creativity, compassion, and unwavering generosity.

From an early age, Lois displayed a remarkable talent for the arts. Her passion for painting, sculpting, and sketching became not only her lifelong pursuit but also her gift to the world. She taught art throughout her life—sharing her skills with day care centers, schools, and most recently with senior centers over the past decade. Even as age made it more difficult for her hands to follow her imagination and her vision began to fade, she continued to inspire others through her dedication and joy.

Lois was especially known for creating whimsical birthday T-shirts that brought delight to hundreds of children. Each shirt featured the child’s age alongside a hand-painted animal or fairy tailored to their wishes. What began as heartfelt gifts blossomed into a small business that spread happiness far beyond her immediate circle. One story she loved to share involved a young girl named Emily Stone who visited Lois annually in Arizona for a birthday shirt—years later becoming known to the world as actress Emma Stone.

Her artistic legacy extended into seasonal celebrations as well. Many homes still display Easter decorations crafted by Lois—small wooden eggs transformed into enchanting garden creatures, forest animals, or circus performers through her vivid imagination and skilled hands.

Lois’s faith was central to her life. A devoted churchgoer in both Minnesota and Arizona, she held her church family close and offered her talents freely whenever needed. Whether painting banners or decorating fellowship halls, she gave generously of herself. She also had a cherished tradition of hosting dinners for local or visiting clergy—always asking what their mothers used to cook so she could recreate those comforting meals from memory.

Kindness radiated from Lois in every interaction. She was patient and accepting, joyful and deeply loving. Her warmth touched countless lives—family members, friends, neighbors, fellow parishioners—and she always made time for those around her.

Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Lynn and their daughters Sarah and Emily, step daughters Cindy, Ellen, and Kathy and step son Randy. Her love continues on through numerous family members, friends, neighbors, and members of her church community who were fortunate enough to know her.

May the memory of Lois Lynn bring comfort and inspiration to all whose lives she touched with grace and creativity.
