Lois's obituary
Lois Judith Martin Announcement
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our aunt Lois Judith Martin of Newton Mass on Oct 31st at the age of 79.
She was born to Simon and Bessie Martin and raised in Worcester, Mass. She was the Youngest of four siblings: Janet Schoem, Helen Corman, and Bernie Martin.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews: Miriam Drachman, Ruth Hedges, Linda Miller, Gary and Nancy Martin, Sharon Martin, and Carl Corman, along with nine great Nieces and Nephews. She had many lifelong friends.
Her endless love for animals will be remembered always through her charitable donations to the Puffin Organization and felt by her many cherished cats.
What we will remember most is her passion and commitment to making all voices heard. She was a devoted public defender who sought justice in all its forms. She received the Edward J. Duggan Award for outstanding service- private counsel and earned the respect of her clients, peers, and judges alike.
She deeply cared about local and national social issues and told all her nieces and nephews when they turned 18, ‘Register to vote!’.
We will all miss her passionate political correspondence, fierce independence, and love and devotion to her family.
She had a great sense of humor and brought us joy and laughter.

May her memory be a blessing.
