Lois attended Newell Consolidated School, graduating as Valedictorian in 1958. She married Richard C. Seward, of Storm Lake, Iowa in October 1959. They lived in Carroll, Iowa until the spring of 1962 at which time they relocated to Roseville, California. There they raised their three children, Corey, Christopher, and Cynthia.

While Lois studied at Sheffield University the family lived in a quaint English village, Dronfield, six miles away where they met lifelong friends. She was a collector and decorator extraordinaire. Lois and family restored an 1892 Victorian home in Placerville, California once known as “Hangtown,” subsequently depicted by famed artist Thomas Kinkade. Lois loved spending time with family - the grandchildren and great grandchildren were her most precious gems.
