Lois Batchelor, 89, passed away on August 18, 2023 in Oceanside, California.

Lois leaves behind her two sons Roy Batchelor and Bill (Janet) Batchelor, her Grandchildren Katie, Kealoha & Dylan, as well as two Great Grandchildren Leila and Myles.

Born in Chicago in 1933, Lois and her husband Ron moved from place to place during their early years. Eventually, they settled and raised their two boys in Mission Viejo, CA. Later, she relocated to Oceanside CA to be closer to "her boys".

Lois' first job was book keeping in the City of Chicago. She left Chicago for San Diego with her brother at the age of 19 with $20 in her pocket. Living in a boarding house in San Diego, she would visit every floor of the taller buildings to land her next job. She celebrated her 21st Birthday atop what was then the tallest building in San Diego, The El Cortez Hotel.   For the rest of her life Lois remained a numbers girl and a city girl.  She preferred the wash of humanity in a bustling city over the open expanse of a country vista. 

 Over the years she worked for many companies large and small. She was self taught in book keeping and payroll services. Her final job was with the City of Oceanside where she coordinated ride services for seniors. She retired 'for good' at the age of 82.

While she had a long career and a tremendous work ethic, once Roy and Bill were born she was always a mother first, supporting her boys as her primary objective.
