Lois's obituary

Lois (Adams) Peterson, 83, of Crete, NE, passed away peacefully on January 09, 2024.

 She was born on January 26, 1940, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband Carrol Peterson (Crete, NE), daughter Anne (Alexandria, VA), as well as her sister Kay Adams (Crete, NE). Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and George Adams.

Lois had a passion for music and was accomplished in playing the violin and the Japanese floor harp (Koto). She was a lifelong learner and earned three Master's degrees in Museum Studies, Library Science, and Music. Lois shared her love for music and knowledge by working as a librarian at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, East Campus, and later at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, where she served as a librarian and archivist.

In addition to her career, Lois enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She cherished moments with her husband Carrol, her daughter Anne, and her sister Kay. Lois will be remembered as a kind and loving person by all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

No memorial service is planned at this time. Contributions in honor of Lois can be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
