Lloyd's obituary
He was born to Seraphine Charles and Helius Carbon in Montin, Grand Bay, Dominica on July 22, 1968. Lloyd has an extremely large and loving family. He is survived by his children Shavon, Serah, Leah, and Daniel. His siblings, Lucina, Gerry, Conrad, Miranda (Connie), Sharon, Linda (Pam), Judith, Dave, Junnie, Nadir, Aaron (Issah), Graig, Deian, Doleen, and Tyrone. Nieces and Nephews, Naya, Clay, Alford, Robbie, Devon, Davidson, Ashley, Liam, Jerlena, Jerlene, Aaron, Moses, Joshua, Kimorah, Aden, Amarah, Aaliyah, Scottie, Shakyl, Mickael, Christelle, Ronald, Melissa, Aicha, Clint, Arkim, Stephon, Jenelle, Kimberly, Jada, Janysa, Jaylen, Naimah, Gervern, Gerveron, Gevonni, Nersheen, Roger Jr., Tori, Kylaun, Bertha. As well as many fond cousins, uncles, and aunts.
Growing up, Lloyd became a father figure to many of his younger siblings as he was one of the eldest of his siblings. Lloyd loved to take care of his family and assist his mother in any way that he could. He even sacrificed going to school to be able to help his mother raise his siblings.
But that didn't stop Lloyd from becoming successful. As he aged, he became skilled in construction and remodeling work, oftentimes building houses in Dominica for friends and family. He had strong pride in his country, but he moved to New York in the 80s to build a life for himself. It was there where he learned to read and write with the help of his family which allowed him to evolve into the smart businessman he came to be.
Lloyd built a successful business for himself and became his own boss. He was dedicated to his work and his discipline didn't go unnoticed. Many of his clients spoke very highly of not just his fantastic work, but of his honorable character. But working wasn't the only passion of his. He was fond of many things including gardening, cooking, cars, woodwork and even taking care of animals.
He was a warmhearted father who lived his life in faith. Lloyd enjoyed laughing, reggae music, playing dominoes and in his younger years he loved cricket. He was also the biggest sweet tooth and was especially fond of ice cream. One thing about Lloyd was he didn't like to spend his time being sad, I believe that he would want those who loved him not to weep in his passing, but to reflect and keep him in their hearts. Lloyd lived giving and seeking love, so let us hold onto the love we have for him and he shall rest in peace with his God.
