LISA MARIE MARTIN HARAWAY ____________________________________________________

Lisa Marie Martin Haraway of 224 Courtland Street #248, Danville, Virginia, went to be with her “Sweet Jesus” on Friday, April 21, 2023. Following many months of complication and illness, Lisa passed away surrounded by friends and family at the Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, Virginia.

She was a graduate of Tunstall High School, Danville. Lisa was a lady of fashion, had a charming hat collection, enjoyed manicures, and acquiring jewelry. She also had a deep affection for animals, especially cats. Lisa dearly loved and adored her large family, and delighted in buying and wrapping gifts, then surprising them.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Robert Edwin Haraway, of the residence; her mother, Marie Martin Myers, of Danville; two sisters, Donna Kaye Martin Burchett and Patricia Sue Martin Rose, both of Danville; and one brother, Samuel Benjamin Martin, Jr., of Garner, North Carolina.

Lisa is predeceased by her father, Samuel Benjamin Martin, Sr., of Danville.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held for Lisa on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens, for friends and loved ones. A Closed Service will be scheduled later for the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to “Best Friends Animal Society,” an organization that Lisa felt strongly about.
