Lisa's obituary
In Loving Memory of Lisa Ann Jones
Beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, wife, “Nana”, and friend.
April 12, 1966 - March 29, 2025
Lisa Jones was a beacon of love and light in the world. Her caring spirit touched the lives of everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed.
Lisa had a gift for nurturing—whether it was tending to her garden, caring for pets, or guiding people, especially children. She believed in growth and in helping others find their way. To many, she was more than a confidante—she was a counselor, a guide, a lighthouse. You could come to her with any problem, and she would never judge—only listen, encourage, and help you find your path.
And when the path was tough she liked to bake, a little reminder that life still has sweetness to offer. And life was sweet when you were with her, she was not only gracious but vivacious, lively, and fun. She loved dancing, singing, and celebrating—whether at holidays, concerts, or any gathering that brought people together. More than anything, Lisa wanted those she loved to come together and celebrate life.
That is how we will remember her: with love, with laughter, and with gratitude.
Rest peacefully, sweet Lisa. You will be loved and missed, but your light shines on—always and forever.
A memorial service for Lisa will be held on July 1st at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4500 Buena Vista Road, Bakersfield, CA 93311.
Lisa’s favorite season was spring. In her honor, we invite you to dress in bright patterns and colors—or simply wear what makes you feel comfortable. It will be hot outside, but the service will be indoors with air conditioning; layers are recommended.
