Lisa's obituary
Lisa Rae Harmon (née Lawson), born October 16th of 1961, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on the morning of January 24th, 2025. Lisa was born in Springfield, Missouri to parents Patricia and Raymond Lawson. She was preceded in death by her father Ray and brother Terry. She is survived by mother Pat, husband William, daughters Andrea, Jade, & Katelyn, and grandchildren Lyric, Bayne, Gabe, Zayne, Kyla, Rowan, & Riley.
She was a graduate of Parkview High School in 1979 and Ozark Technical Community College with a degree in Medical Coding. Lisa started her long career in medical coding at Cox South Hospital and retired from Moffitt Cancer Hospital after 22 years as a Medical Records Educator. From her youth she was a lover of rock & roll and would headbang front row with friends at local shows, especially ones where her brother was the drummer. With a great love of music, she spent many days singing her heart out to the radio or at karaoke. Lisa attended as many concerts as she could throughout life from KISS to Mötley Crüe to Keith Urban. She saw it all, dancing and singing along at the top of her lungs. The only thing she loved to do more is spend time at the beach, which is where she truly felt at home. Toes in the sand and sunglasses on, Lisa’s infectious smile shone brightest. Living near the beach was a dream that she made come true over 20 years ago when she moved to Florida. This move started a new favorite hobby: Cruising. She was an avid cruiser and went on many trips to the Caribbean Islands as well as Rome, Italy with husband William.
Family was very important to Lisa. Her loving parents raised her and her brother Terry with strong family values and spoiled them rotten. One look at her father and he got her whatever she asked for. This includes her first car, a bright red Firebird, which was her pride & joy. As an adult Lisa went on to have three daughters and seven grandchildren that she spoiled as well. From long phone calls nearly every day to holidays together, she loved to have family time in any way that she could. Even with her daughters living out of state she always made sure to make them feel loved and special. Her girls saw her as a best friend that always gave the best hugs. Lisa had many friends that she made with her outgoing personality and contagious laugh. She could talk to anyone and end up with a new friend for life. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and bravery made her a wonderful friend to anyone that knew her. These qualities along with many others made her a loyal and loving wife.
Lisa will be truly missed by many and in our hearts forever. There is no replacing the space she has left in our lives. We will go on smiling and singing loudly in her honor, hoping she sees us and sings along.
