Lisa's obituary

Lisa Renee Christian Clark, 56, of Watkinsville passed away on Sunday February 28, 2021. Born on May 9, 1964 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Patricia C. Whitehead and the late Edward L. Christian.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. C.B Nix of Ila and Mr. & Mrs. Lemuel Christian of Danielsville. She was also preceded in death by four-legged family members including Lassie, Suzie, Nicki, Penny, Lexus, Bentley, Magic and Wish.

Lisa’s love for her family was only eclipsed by her devotion to any and all animals under her care. Her love of animals began at an early age with her first dog Lassie, continuing throughout her life with a cast of loyal cats, dogs and horses. She was happiest on the back of a horse. Her first horse, an Arabian named Magic, birthed a filly which Lisa named Misty, who would become her lifelong companion and confidant. Misty and Magic were joined by a host of equines, all of to which Lisa gave a piece of her heart. The friends she made showing quarter horses were like family to her, and she was always the first person to offer support no matter how well your ride went.

In addition to the care she gave to her animals, Lisa dedicated her professional life to helping those in need, supporting families and patients through the difficult trials of both chemotherapy and hospice care. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in 1986 and spent the next 35 years medically and emotionally supporting families through crisis.

Survivors include her husband, James Edgar Clark; daughter, Priscilla Olivia Clark; mother, Patricia N. Whitehead (Robert); sister, Debbie Freeman (Mike) of Anderson, SC; nephews, Cory & Chris Freeman of Anderson, SC; aunt, Jean Carr (Jean) of Watkinsville.

Lord & Stephens, West, Watkinsville is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.lordandstephens.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
