Background
A few days before Christmas 2020, Lisa Chapmond was diagnosed with AML. She was immediately put in the hospital and started treatment. This meant that she spent Christmas that year in the hospital during a pandemic. During the hospital stay, she developed a breathing problem which caused her to have to be intubated and eventually a tracheotomy. She was sedated for several weeks before she was able to come out of it and eventually she was able to breathe on her own and speak again. She went into remission shortly after that but the cancer was aggressive and she almost immediately relapsed. After a hard 13 months fighting, she passed away on January 15th, 2022. Lisa would want this disease to be easier on anyone else who gets it.
