Lionel (Lenny) Andre Painchaud MD passed away 8/29/19 in Columbus, Ohio,USA. Known by a variety of monikers like Pepsi, Poopsie, , LAP, and My Own (by his loving wife Christy). he grew up in a small, prairie town of 300 in western Canada, the son of the town grocer/butcher and an RN. Like a lot of small town Canadian boys, he wiled away the time playing hockey and baseball--mostly hockey--with an eye towards bigger things.
He gave up on dreams of playing professional hockey and other aspirations as a pianist, to pursue a career in medicine--and got his MD in 1961 from University of Saskatchewan, later specializing in radiology. He met the love of his life, Christy, over surgical masks in the OR in Flint, Michigan (an RN as well). They married, had 4 children and went on to live in Quebec, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, moved to Indiana, and later enjoyed some retirement years in South Carolina together.
After Christy's death in 2011, Lenny moved to Columbus, OH to be near daughter Kathy.

Lenny will be deeply missed by his loving children , Chris (Kathleen) Painchaud Indianapolis, IN, Paul (Bonnie Dittmer) Painchaud Calgary, AB, Kathy (Matt Lucas) Painchaud, Columbus, OH; five grandchildren; Sam, Kailin, Thomas, Ryan and Chloe; sister Claudette Blanchette , St. Adolphe, MB; four brothers-in-law John (Rachelle) McGarry, Dennis McGarry, Michael McGarry , Tim (Lynne) McGarry ; three sisters-in-law Edie (Carl) Zylak, Mary (Mike ) Martin, and Theresa (Ron) Landfair ; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife Christabel, his loving son Brian, his father and mother Andre and Helene Painchaud, father and mother-in-law Christopher and Alicebel McGarry, his brother Denis Painchaud and and sister-in-law Lois Painchaud; and brother- in-law Bernard Blanchette.
