Linnie Rose's obituary
Linnie Wingo Morgan, born in Poteau, Oklahoma; was a wife, mother, friend, but most
importantly daughter of our Lord and Savior. Linnie passed away on August 31, 2020 at the age of
82 in her eldest son’s home, surrounded by her family.
Linnie is survived by her sister Linda Wingo Schmidt; her children Phillip Morgan Jr., his
wife Sheila; Gerry Morgan, his wife Kim; Elena Morgan Weschenfelder, her husband Fred, and
Charity Mitchell, her husband Chris. Her grandchildren Candice Morgan Anthony, her husband
Ryan; Caitlin Morgan, Madison Morgan, Justin Weschenfelder, Brittany Weschenfelder-Smith, her
husband Brian; Gerry Weschenfelder, his wife Maria; Dustin Mitchell, and Austin Mitchell. Her
great grandchildren Ginny Smith and Levi Weschenfelder.
Linnie’s pride and joy was her family. She never went any where, where she wasn’t speaking
of her late husband and love of her life Phil Morgan or her children and grandchildren. The two
married in June 1957, and traveled the world together, as she accompanied Phil when served in the
United States Navy, while raising their four children. The two later settled in San Antonio.
The woman who tokened the phrase “rat killing” (doing errands) never rested. She had a
servant’s heart with a passion for volunteering, from working with the Red Cross during the
Vietnam War up to her last volunteer project, which included, working with a group from her
church at the Madonna center, where she taught ESL.
An outspoken follower of Christ, it was Linnie’s mission to raise her family knowing they
were loved by Jesus. Her last month on earth went fast, but there is no doubt she was thrilled to be
back in the loving arms of her husband and in the presence of God.
