Linnie's obituary
MSgt. Linnie M. Gordon-Hubbard, 72 , unexpectedly passed away surrounded by her children at Providence St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla, WA on April 28, 2023. Linnie was a decorated veteran who served in the Desert Storm War and spent 31 years in the Air Force National Guard.
Linnie was born on September 11, 1950 in Bentonia, MS to her parents, Edward Gordon and Mozell Washington. When she was 29, Linnie decided she wanted to join the Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. Linnie would go on to serve in the Air Force with some of her closest friends Pamala Galloway, Alice Washington, Thelma McGee, Patrice Brown, and Danyell West.
While serving in the Air National Guard, Linnie also had a full-time job as an Account Receivables Supervisor for MS Dept. of Finance & Administration and retired after 29 years. Linnie joined New Heights SDA Church in 1982 and developed a strong relationship with God. At New Heights, she served many years as PathFinder Director for Youth Ministries and as Treasury Clerk. Linnie left New Heights SDA, and then joined Canton SDA, where she was a current member at the time of her passing. She also served in the Treasury Department at Canton SDA.
In April 2010, Linnie decided to get married to Charlie T. Hubbard. Linnie chose to settle in the city of Raymond, MS, with her husband.
After 12 years of marriage, she moved to Washington State to be closer to her children. Linnie had a passion for traveling, quilting, writing, and various other handcrafts.
Linnie was predeceased by her siblings Annie L. Gordon, James E. Gordon, Gale G. Owens, and Christeen G. Wilkerson; grandsons Prince Giovanni Mikel Gordon and Brayden Markel Watts. She is survived by sister Henrietta "Chum" Owens; sons D'angelo D. D. Gordon, Antonio A. A. Gordon, Leon C. J. Gordon, Jeremy P.D. Gordon, and a daughter Anjeleda C.C. Gordon; grandchildren Demario Johnson, Marquez Wheaton, TeMykal Perry, Princess Wansley, Jayla Gordon, Antonio Gordon, Jr., Trinicea Gordon, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. The family requests that flowers be sent on Friday, 9/1/23 to Embassy Suites by Hilton, 200 Township Place, Ridgeland, MS 39157. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service held at 3pm on September 2nd at Embassy Suites Hotel.
