Linda's obituary

Linda Ann VanHarken, 71, of Spring Hill, Florida joined the Lord’s sopranos in the heavenly choir on February 19, 2024, after her brief struggle with the effects of her treatment for breast cancer.

Linda was born October 13, 1952, at Clifton Springs Hospital to Phyllis and Robert Liddick. She grew up in Newark, New York and was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1970. She was a member of the Thespian Club, performing in Bachelor Father, Rally ‘Round the Flag Boys, and Brigadoon. After high school, she was a lifelong musician, finding an opportunity to sing wherever she went. She was a member of the Choir at

Woodlane Community Church in Newark, NY and Spring Life Church in Spring Hill, Florida; as well as a member of the Lake Effect Community Choir and Newark Community Chorale. She spent much of her limited spare time to being a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone in her life. Upon moving to Florida in recent years, she played a mean game of golf and recently took up watercolors.

She was preceded in death by parents Robert and Phyllis Liddick and infant brother David. She is survived by Glenn, her husband of 51 years, brother Joe (Esther) Liddick of FL, daughters Sarah (John) Lindegren of VA and Kristen (Mike) Hofer of GA, Grandchildren Tymothy, Nathan, Alexandria, Robert, and Samuel, one niece, several nephews, and many devoted friends who were family by choice.

A memorial service will be held at Spring Life Church on March 9th at 11 am.  A private burial will be held at a later date in Newark, NY.
