Linda's obituary

Linda Thayer left this earth on May 24, 2023 at her residence in Layton, UT. Linda was 70 years old.

Linda Thayer- born Linda Demaree- was born in Kansas on August 13, 1952 to Elmer and Betty Demaree along with siblings Jack and Nancy Demaree. After moving to Utah Linda met Tom Rusk and then John Heap and raised five resilient children. Years later Linda became a grandma- something she took tremendous pride in. Linda was a lover of holidays. If you had the pleasure of seeing her on any given holiday you would find her dressed head to toe for the occasion. If you went into a 7/11 on St Patricks day and met a leprechaun I can assure you that was Linda going all out to bring a smile to strangers faces. Linda was especially a lover of Halloween, owning many horror movies and novels as well as decorating her home with many halloween decorations year-round. After a 4 year long battle with cancer Linda passed peacefully with her caring nurses at her side.  Linda is survived by her loving children Trina, Tina, Torrance, Chris, daughter in-law Mai, son in-law Mike, her grandchildren Crystal and Danny, her siblings Jack and Nancy and Chris’s girlfriend Niky and her daughter Lilly who also called Linda grandma. Linda was predeceased by her parents and her son Scott whom she will be reuniting with in heaven. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Linda's family as they organize a celebration of life. If you don't feel like donating to the family go to your nearest 7/11 and think of her as you buy a slurpee.
