Linda Ann Storer Rodriguez, 72, passed away on September 25, 2021, at home in the loving care of her family after a long battle with cancer. She fought silently and gracefully throughout the years leading up to her passing. She is now at peace in the hands of the Lord.

Linda was born in Miami, Florida to parents Virgil Glen and Leona Belle Storer. She had one older sister, Martha Jean ”Jeannie” Morrow. Linda attended primary and secondary school between Ohio and Florida. Linda found joy in growing alongside her numerous cousins in both places. She also formed many lasting friendships and memories throughout her early life.

Linda met her husband, Valentin, in 1970 at Tropical Park Race Track. After giving her mother a tip on the winning horse for an upcoming race, Valentin mustered the courage to ask Leona to take her daughter to dinner (and even invited her too!). In the year that followed, Valentin etched his place into Linda’s heart with first dates to race tracks, pool halls, and bars all throughout Hialeah. The two were inseparable from those moments forward and married in 1971.

Linda and Valentin gave birth to their eldest daughter Valinda in 1972. Shortly following Valinda came David and Richard in 1973 and 1976, respectively. Linda was a stay-at-home mom for some parts of her life, but for the majority, she worked various full-time jobs. From landscaping to truck driving to night shifts in convenience stores and eventually stocking/sales in local supermarkets, Linda never fell short of sharing her wide-ranging gifts and skills with others. Linda did the best she could to raise and support her children. While it was not easy, Linda showed her family her love through her strength and work ethic, dedicating herself to them in every way.

Twelve years after giving birth to Richard, in 1987, much to Linda and Valentin’s surprise, she was pregnant again and the following year Anthony was born. Positive that they were done having kids, they were truly shocked to learn that their last baby girl, Linda Marie, would arrive the following year in 1989. In the years that followed, Linda would be blessed with many grandchildren who she lovingly helped to raise.

Throughout her life, Linda loved and cared for nature and many animals. She spent many of her days at the horse races trying her luck. She loved to visit with family and friends, to reminisce on times past and shared experiences.

Linda was an incredibly strong, brave, and compassionate woman. She was a life-long learner, a seeker of new knowledge with each day she lived. She encouraged and supported her children in their pursuits of better lives. She sacrificed herself in so many ways to see in hopes of seeing their dreams fulfilled. She was an example kindness in a world filled with hurt and sadness. Perhaps there is no better description for the way in which she lived her life then the following words of author, William Penn:

“I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again.”

Linda is survived by her husband, children, nieces and nephews, many grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and hundreds of cousins. Both Linda’s parents and her sister predeceased her.
