Linda's obituary

Linda Sue Spyridon, 75, of Centerville, OH, passed away on September 24, 2021 at home after a short illness.

She is survived by her children, Trevor Gray, Alexandra (Cory) Pavlinac, and Nichole (Josh) Bondi, and grandchildren Jayd Myers, Meadow Gray, Luna Gray, Frances Pavlinac, Hazel Bondi, and Edie Pavlinac. She is also survived by her brother Jim Dishun and nieces Alexandra Dishun and Seana Dishun. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Paul and Alverna Dishun and her husband, Sophocles K. Spyridon.

Linda was born in Franklin, OH and graduated from Franklin High School in the class of 1964 . She went on to graduate from UC Raymond Walters in 1971 and then worked as a Dental Hygienist for over 30 years. She also assisted her husband in managing his dental implant practice and accompanied him on many lectures all over the world, including to Russia and Italy.

She was most well-known for her open and welcoming spirit. Her home was a frequent gathering place for friends and family, and, on holidays, she always welcomed those who had no place to celebrate. Many weekends were spent out on the boat at Lake Erie and she relished opportunities to travel with her husband. Friendship was also important to her, always maintaining her close relationships from childhood as well as the friends she made throughout her life. She was a tireless caregiver and spent many of her last years caring for her husband and mother. In her personal and professional life, her motto was “kill them with kindness,” and she never sent anyone away without a smile and a good-hearted word.

Along with her sweetheart of 8 years, Tom Girard, she was a lifelong Ohio State football fan. They spent many weekends going on long-winding drives in her convertible, ending the evening cheering for their team.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 2nd, at First United Methodist Church in Franklin, OH. Family and friends are welcome to gather for refreshments downstairs immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Linda S. Spyridon to Hospice of Dayton at www.hospiceofdayton.org/donat… as the family is especially grateful to the entire staff at Hospice who helped fulfill Linda’s wishes of spending her last days in her home.
