Linda's obituary

Linda Jo Bissett Ries, 81, of Dunedin, FL, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024.

Linda was born on October 29, 1942 to Joe and Juanita Bissett in Akron, OH. After graduating from Tallmadge High School in 1960, she went on to study at Bowling Green University. After leaving college, Linda went to work for the United States Navy as a secretary.

In 1963, she and Larry Ries were married.  They would go on to have  3 children. In 1974, the family moved to Clearwater, FL, where Linda worked as an office manager for several businesses and doctors. In 1976, they moved to Dunedin, FL. Where she lived out the remainder of her life. She retired from Palm Harbor Plastic Surgery Centre after 20 years of service.  Linda was loved by everyone that knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, "Nana",  aunt, and friend. She was the glue that held her family together. Always making sure everyone's birthday was remembered, as well as making each holiday memorable for the whole family.  Linda was a warrior. Over the years, she fought long and hard through many illnesses, all while continuing to work and make her family her priority. Linda, along with Larry, traveled many miles to support her grandchildren's sporting, dance, and theater events. Linda's beautiful smile, highlighted by her pink lipstick, and her flair for fashion will  forever be ingrained in the minds of those who knew her, as well as her loving demeanor.  We will miss her greatly.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Juanita Bissett, her brother, Jim Bissett, and her grandson, Jacob Cardiello. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Ries, her two daughters, Joy Ries Pumphrey and Kerri Ries (Bryan) O'Kelley,  her son Mark (Leza) Ries, her sister Merrilee (Jim) Anthe, as well as eight grandchildren, three great-grand children, and several nieces and nephews. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Suncoast Hospice at SuncoastHospiceFoundation.org.
