Linda's obituary

Linda Lee (Croffoot) Reitz passed away at her Virginia home on December 9, 2023.

Linda was born October 28, 1948, the daughter of Earl Alston (1908-1990) and Linnie Leona (Hayes) (1908-1988) Croffoot and married Daryl “Pood” R. Reitz (1938-2011) on September 4, 1971.

She graduated from Hanover High School, with the Class of 1966. She was active in many school activities, including being the Drum Majorette for the Hanover High School Band.

Sadly two of her best friends passed in the last couple of weeks. There were often referred to as the LBJ Girls – Linda Barb Johnson and Judy Harman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Daryl Reitz, parents Earl and Linnie Croffoot, brothers Keith and Karl Croffoot, sisters Lois and Lucielle Croffoot, and her 2 grandchildren, Coty and Christopher Roush. She is survived by her children Todd Reitz, Tammy (Reitz) Roush, Kim (Reitz) Hayworth and Tracey Reitz. She also has 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Linda was always active in many Hanover activities, and between her and her sister Lois, they helped bring back the HHS Alumni Reunion to the success it became. Linda was 75 years old. May she always R.I.P.

Cremation rights have been accorded and the funeral services will be held in Hanover at the Law Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16th. Visitation will be from 1000 -1100 with a service to follow at 1100 am. A luncheon will be provided after the service at the Hanover VFW from 1200-2pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that anyone wishing to contribute to a memorial for Linda, donations can be made through the Law Jones website and will be divided between the Hanover Food Pantry and the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
