Linda's obituary
Linda Reed Lewallen, 70, passed away on January 29, 2026. Born on March 13, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas, Linda was the daughter of Kenneth Reed and Donna (Williams) Reed.
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our mother, Linda, who went to her eternal rest surrounded by love.
Linda was a woman of faith. She found joy in God’s creation—especially animals—and cherished visits to zoos, where wonder and learning met. She encouraged curiosity, compassion, and a lifelong love of reading, believing that books could open hearts as much as minds.
She is survived by her children: her oldest son Roger Lair, and granddaughter Lucy Lair; her middle daughter Michelle (Lair) Simpkins, her spouse Jason Simpkins, and granddaughter Jordan Simpkins; and her youngest daughter Meredith Lair. She is also survived by her brothers Mike Reed (and his wife Kathy Reed) and Mark Reed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Reed and Donna (Williams) Reed, and her brother Richard Reed.
To her granddaughters, Jordan and Lucy, she was lovingly known as GiGi—a source of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. One of Jordan’s most treasured keepsakes is her “Baby Jaguar,” a gift given by GiGi during a visit to an animal rescue in Texas. Though small, it carries immense meaning and countless cherished memories.
Linda held a special fondness for hummingbirds and angels—gentle reminders of hope, beauty, and God’s presence in everyday life.
While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace, resting in God’s eternal care. Her love, lessons, and spirit will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
We are deeply grateful for the prayers, kindness, and support during this time, and we honor her memory by carrying forward the love she so freely gave.
